Dear Friends and colleagues,
Korean ophthalmologists have contributed significantly to the understanding of cataract and implant surgery and have embraced newer technologies such as the use of excimer lasers in refractive surgery.
The Asia-Pacific Association of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (APACRS) is therefore delighted to be co-hosting the 2009 International Meeting on Advanced Cataract and Refractive Surgery (IMACRS 2009) with the Korean Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (KSCRS) and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS). This will provide a unique opportunity for Korean ophthalmologists to interact with regional and international surgeons for a state-of-the-art meeting focused on the latest techniques and technology in this field.
The scientific program for the meeting is of the highest standard, with speakers sharing their expertise in dealing with challenging situations in modern cataract and refractive surgery. The meeting stands out in the calendar as an opportunity to update one’s knowledge and also experience one of Asia’s most interesting and exciting destinations.
I am sure all who attend will benefit from acquiring new knowledge and also from establishing new friendships.
On behalf of the APACRS, it is with great pleasure that I welcome all delegates to the IMACRS in Seoul 2009.
Warmest regards
Graham Barrett, MD
President
